Airplane Plans

Found a free plane on Thingiverse, thought I'd share here.  looks pretty good - even has tabs to help glue the wings!  https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3302937

Printed up a few wing sections. Gotta say I'm pretty happy with how they turned out, so I pulled the trigger on the full version plans. I have a motor that should work and it uses 9g servos, so why not?

Either this plane is easier to print than the other ones I tried a year or so ago, or I've learned a thing or two about 3D printing

These were printed with a standard 0.4mm nozzle at 0.2mm layer height, 1 outline at 50mm/s at 220C. Took about 8 hours for these three sections, estimating about 9.5 hours for the other three and center section. Probably another full day for the fuse, so given a long weekend you could crank this out easily :)

If anyone needs it, I ordered plenty of the 2mm wire for the landing gear.  Also some linkage stoppers.  I wouldn't mind trading either (or both) for a few extra servos since I plan on printing up another of these, or maybe one of the other models.

Third times a charm!  Gluing in the last tail section is a PITA, it is hard to get in place and straight before the glue dries. Finally got it right this time, and finished the landing gear. Now I just need to attach the control surfaces and mount the servos, etc.
